Final Logo

The final look at this project: When we got this project, I had an idea. I read we had to make a sketch drawing which, initially scared me a little bit. I am no certified artist when it comes to hand drawings. But I knew I had an idea. I got my notebook out and put my vision into something physical to see. I felt confident with my vision. Before I began, I investigated what kind of ball I wanted on the logo. I googled all sorts of soccer balls and found a ball I really liked the look of and got a base for my design.  Once I saw it on the paper and knew it was the one. I was ready to create it in illustrator. I got to work in class and got to getting my vision into a design that a company could use. I began with putting the half circles together for the top and bottom half of the ball. I used circles and then took of the top anchor point. I then crated the lines on the bottom part of the ball. I used the line tool for this. This proved to be the most difficult part of my design. I had to create all sorts of lines and try to get the lengths right and gaps right. I had to also create small Y like sections to connect lines together at meeting points. I got them to a point where I felt that they were equal and straight. I filled them with colors that were complimentary, but I got a comment on my draft from a girl named Natalia from class and she brought up that the colors were a bit dull and that sports are energetic and therefor they seemed a bit off. I showed my roommate also and he saw some rough spots that went unseen. I went to work on Friday and got my colors sorted out, fixed the final rough spots and made the ball on the trophy a gold color to show off the trophy. I finally got to see my vision complete in front of me. I am happy with this final version. I know it can be scaled to look well on T-shirts, business cards and large signs.
